Pre-Trip Kick off call for all Clubs, all Participants on the trip:
Thursday: Feb 1st Zoom call from 6 – 7 pm CST (Texas Time).
- Ask your club trip leader for a link to the Zoom call – everyone is welcome!
- The tour operator – Sports America will be on the call to walk everyone through the itinerary, answer any last-minute questions you might have and get everyone excited about the trip!
Trip Itinerary:
- Saturday: Feb 3rd: Arrive at Park City & check-in to your Condo (Your Condo Captain will have your Condo keys), pick up your ski rentals and the Selfie Scavenger Hunt Poker begins! (Hint: Ask your Club Trip Leader for Details)
- Sunday: Feb 4th: Skiing Day 1 + Welcome Party at Flanagan’s on Main
- Monday: Feb 5th: Skiing Day 2
- Tuesday: Feb 6th: Skiing Day 3 + (Optional + additional cost) Ice Castles & Crater Soak Day trip to Midway
- Wednesday: Feb 7th: Skiing Day 4 + (Optional – no cost to race) Racing Day at Deer Valley Ski Resort (IKON or Deer Valley day pass required)
- Thursday: Feb 8th: Skiing Day 5 + TSC Gala Dinner & Racing & Selfie Scavenger Hunt Awards at Baja Cantina
- Friday: Feb 9th: Skiing Day 6
- Saturday: Feb 10th: Check out and head for home. Bye, bye - Park City, until we meet again!
Selfie Scavenger Hunt Poker
Starts on Saturday, Feb 3rd – ends on Thursday, Feb 8th at 5 pm (Participants draw cards to win at the Awards Dinner)
- Jump in the fun – and figure out the clues – take a selfie of the answer and send it in!
- It’s a week-long contest open to everyone on the trip – clues/details will be handed out by your Club Trip Leader. All you need is some smarts, a camera and an email account – and you can win!
- At the Awards Dinner – anyone that participated – will get to draw the number of playing cards based on the # of clues they got right. Winners with the best/worst poker hand + other fun contests (think creative photos) – can win exciting prizes --- $50 discounts for any Sports America trip next year!
TSC Welcome Party @ Flanagan’s on Main – Park City, Utah
Sunday, Feb 4th from 5-6:30 pm
- Come mix and mingle after your first day of skiing and enjoy light appetizers + a free drink!
- The TSC group will be located downstairs inside of Flanagan’s on Main.
- Flanagan’s on Main (Irish Pub in the middle of Main Street – Park City Utah
Ice Castles & Crater Soak Day trip to Midway, Utah
Tuesday, Feb 6th – TBA
Optional day trip for additional cost (Includes round trip transportation)
Ask your club trip leader about signing up!
- We will pick you up and take you to the Midway, Utah for a fun filled day
- Ice Castles are the first stop - https://icecastles.com/utah/
- We are back to Midway – for lunch and shopping (lunch is on your own)
- Off to the Utah Crater for a one-in-a-lifetime hot springs soak - https://www.utahcrater.com/
- Includes a 40 minute soak (make sure to bring bathing suit)
- We head back to Park City
Racing!
We love to race at all Texas Ski Council trips and for the Park City Trip – Racing is Free! Don’t worry – if you can snowplow – you can race! It’s fun and worth a try for skiers of all ages and skills.
Bonus: Racing earns points for your club toward the end of year trophy & we give out medals for best times in different men’s/women’s age groups. Come join the fun!
All racing this year will be at the Deer Valley Mountain – so you will need a Deer Valley or Ikon pass to race. Epic Passes cannot be used at Deer Valley.
TSC Racing Day @ Deer Valley – NASTAR Public Course
Wednesday, Feb 7th from 10 am to 12 noon
Racing is Free – but you will need to sign up for a NASTAR account (free) and sign the Deer Valley waiver in advance (see below).
- NASTAR Race Course is located on Bald Mountain at Deer Valley ski resort. Ride either the Sterling Express or Wasatch Express chairlift and ski down Birdseye run to the top of the Race Course
- IKON pass or Deer Valley day pass required to access Deer Valley ski resort
- There is a ski waiver required by Deer Valley for the race course. Each racer is required to complete before they can race. Fill out in advance to make your racing experience seamless. https://ezwaiver.com/deervalley/
- Make sure to sign up for NASTAR – in advance of the race – TSC will use your NASTAR # - for this and future races (Signing up for NASTAR is free) https://nastar.com/
